Origin began in 1996 when partners
Debra Reiff and Luke Lehman started on a journey across the world in search
of new, fresh jewelry designs to introduce to the American market.
They charted a course through Europe, North Africa and the Middle East and
along the way we met with many jewelry artisans with great cultural
diversity; from an artist selling her amber creations in a street festival
in Warsaw, to a vendor of tribal jewelry in a soak in Casablanca. More
recent travels have brought us to sample the treasures of Asia as well.
Having always had a love and respect for other cultures, we return after
each trip filled with great visions of sharing our discoveries, and we named
the company "Origin" as a representation of all the places and cultures
jewelry design has its roots - from where it originates. |

Shari Dixon has merged her graphic design training with a
strong background in fashion, creating a line of jewelry that is not only
timeless and artistically well rounded, but stylish as well.
A firm believer that women want to feel beautiful, feminine and strong all
at once, her motifs incorporate natural elements such as flowers and
feathers,
immortalizing their fragile lives by sealing them with a poly-resin,
preserving
the form and adding a spectacular glazing effect. These elements then become
a handmade design that is combined with curious and daring color choices in
a multitude of natural materials such as genuine stones, fresh water pearls
and interesting fibers, forming whimsical and extremely unique designs of
personal adornments.
Dixon began as a silversmith and through time has changed her line to be
more versatile and include the natural elements that she finds more
inspiring and which reflect the passion that creating jewelry brings to her
life.
